[Solved] Map menu issue with custom maps

Hello there. Something is wrong with the new version. I start an editing game, on a new map, offline, then press start. It then starts either editing on a random existing map (if I put in a name for the new map), or deathmatch on a blank map (if I don't put a name). Is there a new way to do it now, or is it messed up, or..? Demos are not available, but I can maybe do a screencast if needed. Any help is appreciated. Thanks.

Edit: I made ^up there^ a bit more accurate, and I went ahead and did a quick screencast. https://youtu.be/v1WtrFb-FcQ

Since I love this game, and don't want anyone (outside of the community) to see it in a bad light, I will delete the video after I get some help resolving this problem. It's already unlisted, but people can still find it.

probably something that was fixed already in the devel version, as i don't see this problem. choosing edit starts edit on a random map if one is not selected, and naming a new map for it also works fine.

Certainly strange, looks like a bug, but I'm not sure if it is code or config side.

Okay, so more specifically, the problem you observed was
* for the maps menu
* when you use the "custom map" field

Quite a while ago, I edited this part of the menu in such a way that you get the correct preview image when you enter the name of an existing map.
Right now, with the current version, this is actually not the case, but I definitely cannot reproduce your problem - the editing session is started on the correct map.
Though, I'll have another look at the menu code to see what's wrong with the preview and the radio button. It seems that once you enter text on the field, the radio is automatically deselected.
EDIT: Exactly this. In your video, @ 14s, the radio is turned off as you hit "start", so it picks a random map. I'll look into this later.

Okay, I've just pushed an update that should fix both of these issues.
https://github.com/red-eclipse/base/com ... 6124d6cc0a
Let me know if that works for you. Just let the updater do its thing and you should get the menu update.

I don't have sauerbraten installed right now. I hope the menu field works fine if the paths of sauer maps are taken into account as well.
