Fatal Signal 11 (Segmentation Violation)

Hey guys.

I've been playing RE for a long time and I love the game but recently I got a new computer and when I get on the game, connect to a server, I get this error:



Please help me out

RE Version- (I don't know where to check the version but when I open up the notepad "version" it says this: a2900714d49f299c9c833ecb292aaae6df4d401f

GFX card - Don't really know for sure and I don't know if this will actually help but this is what I found: INTEL(R) HD Graphics.

To supply the information easily, open "My Documents\My Games\Red Eclipse" and find the text file named "log" (log.txt if you show file extensions). Wrap it in a [code] block.

Ok this is weird:

I can play on a parkour map but when it comes to all other modes, I end up having that error pop up again.

i think at this point our support for intel integrated graphics is touch & go at best. some have reported better performance than others. if we end up making even more modern changes in the engine or switch to Tesseract, Intel GPU support will be dropped completely.

Yeah, it is likely a problem with your integrated Intel graphics drivers. If you can track down the support site for your motherboard or the like, you might be able to find an updated driver to use. It's really hard to support this hardware because it is all inconsistent; it either works or it doesn't. I know this probably isn't the answer you are hoping for, and I apologise I can't do more to fix the issue. Perhaps it's a good incentive to add a nicer GPU to your new computer, there are some relatively inexpensive options which outclass the integrated graphics you're using now.

Nah, as long as I get some help, I'm fine with it.

As for getting a new GPU for my computer, I'm definitely looking into that and have been for awhile. This computer is quite shitty because I was in a hurry to buy one so I rushed. Lesson learned, lol. I'm planning probably either building my own computer (which would take ages cause I'm a busy guy...) or just getting a new one. For now though I'll hold off on playing red eclipse and wait for my paycheck to come in.

If its an actual tower computer (and not a laptop) you could just slap pretty much any dedicated graphics card in and it would be probably sufficient for redeclipse...
well it should probably be from this century.

yea, any 30 dollar dedicated GPU will allow you to play RE with decent frame rates along with a lot of other games
