Before I release a new version of a map. I'd like to ask if putting in a lot of detail in texturing adds to the triangle count? Because I tried to make the alpha house/base look old like siding coming off the house and I used the smallest cube size possible to do this. After hitting f6 and f7 to calculate everything. The triangle count went from 153 to 164. I did also edit the geometry of the ceiling structure but little was done to that. If it's going to cost me triangles and slower frame rate then I'd rather just put the textures back to the original textures.

Each triangle can only render one texture, so yes, if you have a two different textures on an area that was once one triangle, you could end up with more triangles.

Oh ok. Cool. Thanks for the quick response. I'll go ahead and change it back then. I should have just tested the theory and quickly set it back to all the original textures and hit f6/f7 to see the results but thought I would ask instead. Good to know these things. Thanks again.
