Installing 1.5.6 on linux

So, I'm not the most experienced with Linux and I've followed the instructions provided by the Red Eclipse website (link below).

And it didn't work, I am 100% sure i did something wrong can some one pleas explain in more depth what to do and even provide screenshots to show the steps? Thank you!!!

Please, provide us with more information about what exactly doesn't work. What linux distribution do you use? What errors do you get? The installation guide is hard to make more detailed I think. One thing that might differ across linux distributions is the first step where you need to install dependencies.
