Installing the game

Every time i wanna play it has to go through installing it all over again and i can't figure out a way to get past that and could really use some help on it.

It is installing updates that get pushed to our repository. To disable this behaviour edit "branch.txt" located in your Red Eclipse installation folder and change "stable" to "inplace".

The location of your Red Eclipse installation folder varies depending on operating system and installation method, typical places are:

- Windows: "C:\Program Files (x86)\Red Eclipse\branch.txt"
- MacOS: Right click "redeclipse.app", select "Show Package Contents", navigate to "Contents > Resources" and edit "branch.txt"
- Linux: Wherever you extracted it to, generally "~/redeclipse-x.y.z" (where x.y.z is the version of the original package extracted)

Just answered a similar question on gamejolt, the MacOS explanation line was useful for that.
Maybe i should write something about disabling automatic updates on the wiki, perhaps in the FAQ.
