If the electric weapon becomes mid-range (we do need another mid-range weapon!) perhaps this could be elongated?

I like the smooth look, though I think the top rear portion could be angled a bit.

I hope it will glow blue ^_^

It's alright, but in-game I can imagine it looking pretty wimpy. As freeze said, the end-result of the weapon's vars would need to determine the best-fitting model.

For reference, the current placeholder model is a 50% scaled down version of the plasma with a tinted skin. I don't think size is a problem, still looks badass.

One thing I've noticed is how much lamer(?) all the weapons look in 3rd person compared to sg/rifle.

SG and rifle are big in length and you can see them being held. When I carry an SMG I feel like I'm carrying a little cap gun and hoping loud(ish) noises will scare the enemy to death. =/

What most people mean when they say this is that they should sound more forceful (eg. Bass). When JoJo did the sounds he balanced them into specific frequency ranges so certain sounds don't tread on the range of others, and so on. This is one of the things that were done that finally convinced me to add music to the game, because before that music just clashed with in game sounds. You can make your own mods but I am not messing with the frequency distribution, JoJo is off having a career now so we're down the only audio engineer we ever really had.

The question is how to hold it. Needs a handle... maybe one that is vertical? Or tilted 45°? Or maybe im just not seeing the handle on the current model lol

Oh, i thought it was a blade or something :P
It doesn't look like a grip yet, needs more detail. Imagine a hand being there and model around that. As in, less depth of the handle and maybe even a half-ergonomic shape (in general more detail in the back-part please)

I have to say though, I like this desing quite a lot.

I uploaded the weapon model to the first post, so you can see how it looks in-game.
I used the pistol animations (instead the plasma animations). It works pretty well I think.

Thanks for sharing, it is nice to get a preview of this in-game!
The right section of the screenshot shows the same model, right? The detail on the sides looks so nice, but with the given animations, it is hardly visible.
Imagine how nice this will look when spark particles are attached - especially if they get more intense while charging the secondary fire.

I feel like you maybe should break up the symetry a bit, maybe sloping the upper part a bit differently than the lower one or something :P Whether you do that or not, great work.

Edit: Nevermind, symetry is broken already a bit. Didn't notice.
