In some instances, turn off above head names and HUD elements. Also, a storyboard of the types of things we want to showcase is a must!

For the storyboard how about a couple of scenes showcasing an intense duel match in a relatively small and detailed arena followed by an editing scene of the map itself being constructed/de-constructed? that might be cool to watch, also is the trailer for the current 1.4 release or is it gearing toward 1.5?

If the time trial mode is going to be featured at all, or might have their notable moments.

Also, here's a bomber-ball game from a while ago that has its moments. The most notable is about 3 minutes in where I get caught in a firefight while holding the ball, so I turn and fling it before getting gunned down. The ball ends up going about 130m to the back wall of the base, then bounces and rolls another 20m back to the goal just before a defender can retrieve it. It was this match that led me to request the recently added feature of "show distance for BB goals" in the first place.

If this is still happening, I got a great ffa dm conflict match where coincidentally I get a bloodbath at 4:15ish. In the end getting about a 27 kill streak which I'm quite proud of. I mean, the RE trailer needs a bloodbath message somewhere, right?

That's not really the only things that are new.
I was thinking of maybe what if we do mini-trailers/teasers about the weapons, like, one focusing the smg, another focusing the plasma, the zapper, the combat situations that they could be used etc.
That could possibly get us maybe some buzz for the 1.5 launch expectations.

If we can get clips, I can reactivate my animoto subscription to create the video (where transitions are synced to the music).

Many people have suggested that for a first person shooter, a good "frag video" is the way to go. Though I don't know if that applies to a more casual game like RE. I like the idea of the mini trailer teasers too. The together might be easier/smaller milestones to digest than trying to crowd source an entire trailer.

Another thing to collectively remember for the trailer is that there's interesting new gameplay, effects, and models for a couple of the weapons.

Since now Youtube supports videos with 60fps ..... i think it would be a good idea of recording the trailer and sending it with 60 fps, so the people that will watch it will have a better sensation of the game's speed/movement/gameplay.

I can theoretically record highest-quality footage with whatever framerate I'd like... but my screen is too small for 1080p :P

Edit: I guess the highest size i could record would be 2056x1024 if i use both of my screens... not technically 1080p though :/

if you render the game at a resolution and record it at the same resolution it should work, regardless of what is displayed on your screen. if you don't know all the commands check out calinou's movie recorder cfg:

At 1:41 remaining, I (Sylvie in demo) get an extremely lucky shotgun2 kill.

There's also the occasional two-player rocket kill at 6:40, 5:32 and 2:59 remaining.

Unfortunately don't have anything for inclusion, but maybe a planning suggestion: visual features, such as glare and such. I just finished a round with fullbright and rotoscope on together, and it really transformed RE into something new, visually, and is really nice on the brighter, colorful maps such as affluence.

I tried to record some videos, but the file size of these .avi files is huge (more than 1GB for 15s). Uploading such big files would take too long.
Should another file type be used?
