Here's my two cents.
While I agree that this was objectively a wholly intentional and harmful violation, I agree with some previous comments that I really don't think crypto realized the seriousness of what he did. We are all looking at his actions from the standpoint of an adult world where actions fully reflect their implications, but we're forgetting (or unaware) that crypto is fairly young, and more than likely thought he was having harmless fun (though it was quite not). Sure, blast me for giving special consideration to age or whatever, but I think this is the reality.
Secondly, at least in my philosophy the purpose of punishment is to reform and not to simply punish, so I think he should definitely be let back in, though with a timed ban like suggested above. I think 3 months is too long, I'd prefer a 1 month global ban and voiding of the account
Oh, and BTW, acer, for whatever reason you really bugged me when you talked about losing faith in humanity. Hit me up if you ever want to have an intense philosophical argument
