When you have multiple bomber ball affinities on a map; the spawn location seems to be set only once at the beginning of the match. It randomly chooses one of the affinities. So that when the bomb resets position (thrown into death mat or off the map) it will always respawn at the same place.
Expected behaviour: the bomb randomly (or cycles) through the bomber ball affinities when reset/respawned.
The map i noticed with multiple bomber affinities is 'decay', which i added due to the non-centric layout, i think maps with unbalanced layouts (like panic, processing, or others) might benefit from having varied spawn locations in bomberball.

When a player scores a goal with the bomb, it does pick a random affinity to spawn from next. Only resetting by other means forces it to retain the spot it most recently spawned from, which is still a reasonable candidate for fixing (one of the consequences is that in hold, it is guaranteed to keep the same spawn point for the entire match).
Maps with multiple BB spawns: ares, condensation (which hardly counts; they're all the same spot just with different heights), erosion, suspended, wet.

You're right. Maybe it is just with the hold mutator then. As you can't score, due to a lack of goals.

I did this intentionally, figured it was best people knew where a resetting ball was gonna end up. So the question is, do I just modify the behaviour in hold, or are random positions preferred at all times? This is probably going to end up being a variable.

It's probably best to randomize the spawn every time--otherwise, since the ball carrier has discretion (to an extent) over when and where they get rid of it, they can fling the ball at a spot well out of bounds to guarantee no one can reach it, assuming it's not an enclosed map. All the while, they know where the respawn point is and can get a head start toward it, and the fact that the bomb has a timer at all is a less important element.
